PROCESS/STUDIO

Over the past decade, my pieces have gotten much more layered and textured. Whether I am making a small, single panel piece, or a ten foot, 300-square piece, I often superimpose or collage secondary images onto the primary image. Some of my favorites are Chinese take-out menus (and Chinese-Guyanese, Indo-Chinese, and Chino-Latino), graffiti, bus maps, Russian movie posters, street art, Pakistani kebob carts, subway timetables, “No Parking” signs, Goya packaging, manhole covers, street grates, Mr. Softee trucks, Geovanny Polanco concert posters, Burmese, Arabic, and Urdu newspapers, and of course, glatt kosher Bukharan restaurant sandwich boards. Got any other ideas for me?
